The Zuzu Collection
Inspired by the interior of Zuzu, its warmth and its unpretentious approach to style, I set out to create a body of work that pays homage to those who contributed to the creation of the comfortable and welcoming environment that I have become so fond of.

My approach to painting is versatile, therefore; my work is diverse in style, color, composition and texture. In this series I have limited the subject matter and palette to those appropriated from Zuzu’s interior.  When I begin a painting it is rare that I commence with any preconceived idea of what I expect the painting to look like in the end.  I may have chosen a subject and/or stylistic direction and palette, but it is important to me that my unconscious, the environment and the unintentional movements of hand and body play a significant role in the outcome of the painting.

I appreciate diversity in all aspects of my life, especially when the individual elements co-exist harmoniously.

I enjoy working on commissioned pieces because the addition of other people’s ideas contributes to the element of diversity in my work.
